The Tuesday Club
The Tuesday Club (charity No. 1060449)
What is the Malmesbury Tuesday Club?
The Tuesday Club is for residents in Malmesbury and the surrounding area who feel isolated and in need of a change of scene, companionship, outings and entertainment. The club meets most Tuesdays in the Malmesbury Leisure Centre between 12.30pm and 3.30pm together with the organiser and some very committed volunteer helpers.
Who can join the Club?
Anyone who is over 16 and, whose chances of social contact are limited by infirmity, including impairment of sight, hearing or speech, can join the Tuesday Club.
Some of the benefits offered by the Club
- Members gain companionship, outings, social interaction, and entertainment and they are able to have a say in the Club’s programme of activities. This keeps them mentally and physically more active.
- Family members and carers are given a few hours of welcome respite.
- Regular talks giving members information on pension credits, disability and other benefits etc
Getting to and from the Tuesday Club
Where they are able, some members make their own way to and from the Club. Those that can’t manage this can, for a nominal cost, be picked up by car driven by dedicated volunteer drivers and taken home.
